RE: Thinking Outside the Box - NOT BASHINGThe final point in all of this is that Severstal buying 2.5% of outstanding shares about 20 million shares is equivalent to about 2 1/2 months of all the shares trades in the open market.
For Severstal to buy an additional 10% of the shares, they would have to buy 80 million shares over the next six months, or about 14 million shares each month to come anywhere close to where they would need to be to go IPO with Nordgold and gain complete control of the company.
I think for Severstal to attempt this in open market transactions, they would have to elevate the share price to likely at least $3.00/share to accomplish this.
