RE: RE: RE: Blurb.

RE: RE: RE: Blurb.Sounds like the HP Portable Solution is a bit of a hybrid solution -- a simple USB stick with built in encryption but with features similar to the Route1 mobikey for accessing back at the office/unit devices while leaving no trace on the temporary host while on deployment or temporary assignment.

I can understand the advantage of having portable data especially if it is static-type data -- everything from field tables, parts lists, maps and the like.  The difficulty I see with this solution is in the updating of the information if you've got a whole bunch of users operating in an off-line mode and then the data needs to by synced. If the data is dynamic and ever changing, I could viz a bit of a challenge here!

I notice there is a lot of emphasis on the mobikey's non-specific user application.  This has got to be a decided advantage from a roll-out and support cost perspective.

I agree it would be nice to see Tony provide his analysis -- not sure he could though without stepping on the hand that feeds!!
