rapid_fire_ RE: Kanuckles

rapid_fire_ RE: KanucklesNo-one's laughing at the Leafs anymore I assure you.  My error...I said that the Leafs were the 2nd youngest team in the league, but in fact, they are the youngest.  Just won 3 in a row with almost a third of the regulars in sick bay or out indefinitely.  Possible trade may happen with us and Anaheim and of course Paul Maurice just got canned again for the 3rd time.  Twice with the Hurricanes and once with us.  Burke and his team built your franchise that basically languished for years until he took over.  He did it in Anaheim and now he is firmly committed to the one place he loves the most:  Toronto.  And remember one thing, no matter what the Leafs do on the ice, win or lose, they are hockey's number 1 franchise and one of the most successful sports franchises ever established.  Toronto is the epicentre of the hockey universe and your mention of Keon surely brings back memories of all of those 4 cups they won in the 60's.  I saw them do it all.  How many cups have Vancouver managed to win?  I seemed to have forgotten?  Now if we could only get rid of Betteman and his gang, then maybe we could see hockey the way it should be played.  As it stands now, Betteman has "Europeanized" the game so much so that body checking is considered passe...few know how to deliver one or to take one anymore and let's get rid of all of those myriad of useless rules like delay of game for accidentally flipping the puck over the glass.  Betteman has turned so many of our players in to "divers" that I often think that I am watching soccer.  Let's leave the game alone and let the boys play.  Detroit is nearing the nursing home stage and your team too will soon have to start their rebuilding.  I do recognize the ability of Schneider but the clock is running and your players are not getting any younger.
