Los Gatos, CA – February 1, 2012 – The new public library in the Town of Los Gatos, California has installed a high-performance 802.11n-based wireless LAN from Firetide. The network is accessible throughout the library and will provide wireless Internet throughout the 30,000 square foot library that is scheduled to open on February 11th.
In the design of the library located in the heart of Silicon Valley, careful attention was paid to ensuring visitors would have access to the Internet to enable them to do online research as well as access an online catalog of library resources, download e-books and music, and manage their library account. The library has 31 public computers for use and allows visitors to bring in their own Wi-Fi devices and access to access the Wi-Fi network.
The Firetide Wireless Access products deployed at the Los Gatos Library includes a single WLAN Controller and 7 HotPoint® Access Points. The WLAN Controller provides automatic network discovery and centralized provisioning and management of Access Points. The Access Points are located inside the library enabling users to connect to the network from just about anywhere.
