RE: Goldbrook attends PDAC 2012 in Toronto Why did GBK send that to you? Was there any explanation? Why do you think they are at PDAC?
My opinion, I think they are there at JJ's bidding. There can be no other explanation given the facts at hand. They have already made public that they want shareholders to vote yes in favor of the deal... and when someone gives you a $2 million loan, for unexplained reasons (those bulges in management's pockets aren't there because they're glad to see you) you are unlikely to say no.
Have you asked for an investigation yet k613? That's the only thing that might save you from this debacle.
As for sellers... I have yet to see anyone state that they have in fact made official complaints to the authorities. It doesn't look good. There is no shame in putting profit/time before principal, when the latter means trying to fight a corrupt, easily manipulated system that wins 99% of the time. The ones that get caught are incredibly careless, and/or just stupid. On the other hand, if you want to fight and you can afford the wait, it's simply another gamble and a matter of choice.
IF the vote goes to the NO side, what happens then? Will JJ offer more or "help" the stock price to tumble, forcing those of principal to wait years for an outcome? It's a possibility.
Here's something to think about.... if the scam worked the other way for you, where you gained a 200% bonanza on a stock, and you suspected foul play, would you sell your shares and run to the bank with your winnings, or would you hang around on principal until authorities caught the crooks and returned the share price to it's honest, but much lower price? I' don't think criticizing other peoples decisions is warranted here.
I know what I would do. Placing a bet on ANY stock, your first thoughts are probably whether what you have been told is entirely true. There is always that element of distrust because... guess what... it's there for a reason! Go to any bullboard on Stockhouse and see the reality expressed in frustration and disbelief. Scamming is an expectation. Only the most naive can believe that participants on the Venture Exchange, or the pink sheets are in the hands of fair and honest people. It's a racket... nothing more. If you put money down on a stock (primarily in the venture exchanges), you had better treat it like organized crime, or you will likely be taken for a sucker.
