RE: Q1 K2

RE: Q1 K2

Could be very important, provided Talisman, as the operator, allows the results to be published in full.  The Oligocene target is one of three main targets they are aiming for.  If K2 is as big as expected, then the results should be quite positive.  However, normally, big companies tend to be secretive, and do not have the need for immediacy of news that smaller companies have.  So it depends on what the terms of the JV agreement is and what Talisman will be required to disclose.  Look at how little disclosure Talisman has deemed appropriate to release, months after they suspended drilling on their nearby Topkhna1 well.  Here they have a JV partner and will have to release more info.  How much more remains to be seen.

From WZR's drilling experience with K1, these are very high pressure zones that are very challenging to drill.  The deeper you go the more challenging it will get.  The Oligocene will be the first and relatively the easiest zone, but still potentially very significant.
