RE: The Bolivian Drag

RE: The Bolivian Drag

Why not sell this asset outright

I think they said they were considering all options, but there may not be any buyer.

Seems to me there must be more to the story of how this got screwed up.  They mined the LMZ for years, but never signed off on the UMZ for reasons that seemed unclear at the time.  Finally they gave a go-ahead and then later abruptly announced that adding a LPF circuit would recover the oxide copper and turn a modest return into a monster return.  Whoever made that analysis and authorized spending $20mm (???) for the acid plant put us into the current mess.

I've met Bill Williams, Agne, and Jim Jacques.  They all seem smart and well versed in all of the details of their operations.  I think the management quality here is better than the asset quality.  I'm still holding some shares because I hope they'll make lemonade out of these lemons.  I spoke to Horst on the phone and was not impressed, but now he's gone.

The new Don Mario technical report has a bit of new information about regional exploration targets.  That could be very interesting long-term upside with more ore to run through the existing fully paid mill.
