ANTO may move FASTA

ANTO may move FASTA

Accelerated by 2-3 Y development because of RECO failure ?

After RecoDiq failure, a question surfaces about TM timeline moving forward .
The speed of TM development depends not so much on ANTO's capabilities or permitting process but mainly on ANTO's 8 year plan of growth.

They were planning to develop first the Reco and couple of mines in Chile before TM.
After failure of Reco , all the other projects in ANTO pipeline are likely moved forward by 2-3 Y to fill the gap
The time and resources Reco would consume are now avaliable for next projecs in pipeline - including TM

In last year the old truth resurfaced again :

the safest and pretty friendly to miners jurisdiction is old USA
ANTO learned that message in a painful way .

The Reco failure cost them $ 140 m in write-downs
To recover that, they suspended a nice divvy, and I guess, they love DM much more now
Reko story here https://www.dawn.com/2012/02/17/gold-war-in-pakistan-highlights-investment-risks.html

Just look at the main jurisdictions where Cu is mined

1. Mongolia - Oyu Tolgoi ( and evry other mine) ,in addition to dragging their feet like 5 Y too long squeezed pretty badly IVN and RIO.
36% free stake going to 50% later , free or deferred capex carry , high royal / taxes etc

2. DRC and Zambia introduced winfall taxes , confiscated - like Chavez - bigger stakes in properties
stripped FM from $$ tens of billions - worth property and sold it to Kazakstan and Chineese co .
( FM in panic moved their investments to friendly countries and dreams to exit DRC with no fatal wounds)

3. Pakistan - see $ 300m loses by ANTO and ABX on Reco.
Above article shows how ignorant and irrational are the corrupt tribesmen about the way big project advance forward .
Like in Sudan , Congo the former Soviet rep in Caucasus , Irak etc .they are ready to start civil war , kill millions to gain control over the "untold riches ".
They also don't want to let- in the infidels ( with exception of China, paying the biggest bribes to the warlords/ bozos )

US and Canada look like paradise in comparison. Doesn't it ANTO ?

4 Australia Minerals Resource Rent Tax (MRRT) proposed to be introduced from 1 July 2012.

5. Peru rising SUBSTANTIALLY mining taxes
https://www.mining.com/2011/11/03/peru-can-compete-with-chile-despite-increased-mine-tax/

6.Chile rising mining taxes and treating some miners like DRC does
https://www.commodities-now.com/news/general/8442-anglo-faces-900m-tax-bill-on-chilean-sale.html

All above shows , the miners are free game worldwide lately
and going forward , the ones in bad countries will post substantially lower margins.

All that is forcing ANTO to rethink the timetable and the order in which they plan to start the particular projects.
So, think FASTA >>>>ANTO

.
