"Strikes at the heart of food fears" ...quite the title (see link below)...and, quite the revolt (south of the border). The U.S. citizens deserve a lot of credit for speaking-up for this cause (imho). And, the help of a celebrity host, Jamie Oliver, somewhat spearheading the "Pink Slime" revolt, certainly a big plus.
I really think Bioniche should call him up and get his advice on how to "make things happen" in gaining public support on food safety concerns. What is the downside given where things are with Econiche gaining approval in the USA? For that matter, pay him as a spokesman if he can extend his passion for food safety to mitigating the risk of e.coli from food and water too. Fundamentally, a more important safety matter, albeit a much tougher challenge.
And, per article, the latter point in this excerpt is worth noting... Fatty trimmings, Reuters explains, "are more susceptible to contamination than other cuts of beef" and need the ammonia to kill pathogens like salmonella and E.coli. Bear in mind, the zapped trimmings (usually about 15 percent of the ground beef) doesn't make the overall beef safer.

Public sentiment for food safety is at another high point south of the border. Need to leverage while opportunities like this exist. If the same old tactics ain't working... try something new. Need some underdog fighting spirit!!

P.S....have been thinking about ConspiTheory recent post. Another plus for Bioniche/Endo/Urocidin. Remember this research and I quote, "Between 2010 and 2020, three promising therapies, Javlor (vinflunine), Urocidin (intravesical formulation of Mycobacterial cell wall-DNA complex (MCC)) and EOquin (apaziquone), are expected to hit the market. Between 2010 and 2020, the market is expected to be led by Urocidin, with forecast sales of $386m." ........and, now there are just two! It is not rocket science what this should do to the value of the remaining two in the running (which we know one is for sure). Note: primary indications for Urocidin and Apaziquone are different.
