RE: RE: RE: News I believe the reason that the strips are important is that the Mascota/Bodega mining plan is significantly compromised without them.
If they try to open pit, not only will they have to create multiple pits around the strips but because of the pit wall slopes and setbacks they will wind up leaving large amounts of resource unmined.
If they try to go underground they will have to create multiple stopes to get at their resource since they cannot cut through the strips underground.
I think one of the main reasons Galway is drilling the strips might be to prove their viability (ie. opposite of destructive drilling). This way Batista cannot make a case that the strips hold no economic value and should be surrendered to allow unencumbered development of his resource.
