RE: Might as well Overkill of loyalty programs here and around the world, plus https://blog.neolane.com/conversational-marketing/11-startling-stats-customer-loyalty-loyalty-programs/
It's not that easy. But here's a chance for leaders to be made when the stock trades at 1/2 cent and a 1:40 rollback is coming. We can be armchair critics of management, but it's really tough to be successful in the loyalty business. Seems like every store has some program. Now can earn miles for any airline by using one card.
Competition has lead to every bank/credit card company offering frequent flyer rewards. Card holders go to car dealers and buy something. They earn miles. These are not credited to Futura in any way. So why some car dealers ask, why do we even need Aeroplan? Futura must be able to answer that or else it's finished.

Yes, it's sad about Futura. But they have to stick to their model: They can't be pure resellers, as that will court only disaster. I think with the Aeroplan program they got squeezed out by Aeroplan's own reporting system. It's hoped that in the US, there's more opportunity for Futura to add their own reporting program to the mix. This may be their only chance for success.
From their MD & A:
The model of aggregating multiple loyalty currencies and bundling them with value added reporting is a unique offering which management believes would be attractive to merchants located internationally.
