RE: Talisman

RE: Talisman

Talisman had to advise the KRG by the end of May whether they want to retain their interest in the property and consequently make the payment, which was due I believe June 25th (but could be June 30th if others think so).

If my memory serves me right, Talisman at the time mentioned it in passing in one of their releases (could be the MD&A can't remember).  The point is that this is relatively old news, given that the notice was given a month ago by the terms of the contract.  Also, the amount is not very material to TLM (the payment, not the property, which is becoming very material to them).

The payment in no way provides a guestimate of the value of the property.  After all, this is in addition to any initial bonus they paid, and in addition to taking the risk and paying the costs of the drilling.  Some time ago, Simon, in an interview, mentioned $5 a share.  Since then there was significant share dilution, but also the size of the prize grew significantly.  So $4 to $5 remains in the ballpark as a take-over price, given the huge discount of the value of the reserves due to the geopolitical situation.
