Drilling in winter; is possible; but only if there
Drilling in winter; is possible; but only if there is a source of liquid water for the drill. Most ponds in the RB region freeze solid to the bottom by late november.
The trick is to scout ahead of time for aquatic bugs; if they are present in the ponds; then the ponds freezes to the bottom and there are no fish. On the other hand, ponds with no visable aquatic bugs; means the pond does have fish and that the water does not freeze all the way to the bottom. Often the ice surface makes a good drilling platform for when an orebody extends under a lake. So winter drilling is possible if the running water is available.
