Investors from South Africa eyeing to invest in Ethiopia PDF Print E-mail

A delegation of business persons from South African expressed their interest on Wednesday to engage in agriculture, construction and mining sectors investment in Ethiopia.

The investors made the remark while the delegation held talks with its Ethiopian counterpart in Addis Ababa.

The delegation’s discussion aimed at bolstering the two countries relations in business and economic sector.

The delegation members stated that Ethiopia’s speedy economic growth has attracted them to invest in the country.

Ethiopia’s Ambassador Plenipotentiary and special envoy to South Africa, Dr. Yeshimebet Mersha said the diplomatic and political relations of Ethiopia and South Africa would be reinforced in trade and investment.

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association Vice Secretary General, Yayehyirad Abate for his part said the discussion forum enables to promote the trade and investment opportunity in the nation.

Head of the South African business delegation expressed the delegation’s interest to participate in investment in Ethiopia.

The trade exchange between the two countries has increased to $95 million in 2011 from $42 million in 2004.
