RE: so who's been selling? That's the interesting question.
Remember when the TSX showed insider sells with a few tenthousand, although non were filed and therefore non existed? (one must know, that most people with professional trading software have tha ability to set a check mark, if their trade is from a substantial shareholder or insider; Therefore the TSX filings are very unreliable and often misused to create false impressions).
When did this selloff begin? And have we seen any insider filings since, that indicate that Sprott or Van Eck or Pinetree would have sold? No. Not a single one.
Now look what theTSX yesterday told:
Company Name : Gold Canyon Resources Inc. | Last Updated: February 28, 2013 |
Date | Symbol | Insider Buys Volume | Insider Sells Volume | Insider Buys Value $ | Insider Sells Value $ | Insider Buys Transaction | Insider Sells Transaction | Currency |
02/28/2013 | GCU | 0 | 319,500 | 0.00 | 153,610.00 | 0 | 106 | CAD |
And in comparison a REAL insider trade filed for Sedi:
Feb 28/13 | Feb 27/13 | Inwentash, Sheldon | Direct Ownership | Common Shares | 10 - Acquisition in the public market | 75,000 | $0.533 |
Feb 27/13 | Feb 26/13 | Inwentash, Sheldon | Direct Ownership | Common Shares | 10 - Acquisition in the public market | 25,000 | $0.650 |
The shorting of miners recently has reached new records. Especially the exploration companies with no cashflow are vulnerable and John Kaiser is trying his best to make the TSX understand, that at least an uptick rule would be needed, if this sector should have a future.
It may be far fetched and we will have to wait 5 days to see, if any insiders really sold the last selloff days, but my gut tells me, without any insider filing shwoing a sell since several months, something fishy is going on with the stock (maybe others too?)
