The History of Springpole Is laid out quite nicely, in summary form, on GCU's home web site.
It makes for a very good read, and IF you haven't read it, and if
you are interested in GCU, you should take the time. I luv stories.
I know Quinton has read Keith Barron's full thesis, Akiko too,
and before that, Michael Leninson. It was certainly NOT
lost on him----Michael.
I think Keith is pretty much retired now, and last I heard was
living in Europe, Switerland I believe.
Keith's thesis by the way, was NOT accepted very well by the
'geological establishment', at the time. In fact it almost cost
him a degree, as it went against the grain as to what was
generally accepted as to the geology and 'make-up' of the
gold properties in the great Northern Shield area of Ontario,
whatless, especially, the Red Lake Area!
He was original and unique, for sure---he thought outside
the box, for his time, and he wasn't phased by the current
theories of the time. He, I guess, took what he had learned in
University and then told it as he saw it, regarding Springpole.
He was a mere student, lucky to get the job---at the time,
as a "GOLPHER", basically. He did his own work and
studies rather independantly.
It must be remembered also, that at that time, way back,
the POG WAS very, very LOW in price.
No one wanted to hear about big but low grade bulk gold
deposits, basically because they just weren't VIABLE to
proceed with.
That's why everyone, pretty well, was out there exploring
and looking for the HIGH Grade VEIN systems.
Michael Levinson told me that the first gold 'outcropping'
was stumbled upon and actually found by a Canadian
Government worker who wasn't even a real geoligist.
Unfortunately, so the story he told me goes, The Gov't
guy didn't 'mark' the spot very well, and / or couldn't
remember just where it was.
Hence, this is STILL a mystery to this very day!
Another thing that is still a mystery----where is the source
of the Gold that has been found at Springpole???
It HAS to be SOMEWHERE!!!!
I certainly ain't none geologist, by any means, but I have
had long discussions with many that are, and who have
worked the Springpole Property over the years.
Obviously, so we are told, Gold comes up from a way
down in the Earth, forced up by volcanic activity.
Hence, I believe that the source will be found at DEPTH.
I mean, a seagull didn't just fly over and drop some grains
there, at random!
Remember, 'they' always say----you will find MORE Gold where
Gold has already been found.
That is also why you always hear about "area plays" which
are staked by other companies and promoted, vigourously.
I think Michael and GCU were very smart in acquiring such
a large mass of property.
This was planned---it DIDN'T just happen by CO-INCIDENCE!!!!
It is ALSO why Springpole has SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
Who can deny that only a very SMALL portion of this
property has actually been EXPLORED----what are we told?---
LESS than 10%???
It is pretty incredible, that GCU pretty well finds some Gold (and
Silver) WHEREVER they DRILL.
In MY very HUMBLE Opinion, I truely believe that GCU has only
barely SCRATCHED the SURFACE of what will eventually be
found at Springpole.
Does it cost money??? Yes!!! Lots of it!!!
BUT it is a GREAT PROBLEM to HAVE.
Remember that EVEN just the Portage Zone, alone, is open to
LENGTH, Width, and DEPTH.
What about ALL of those drill holes "Ending in Mineralization"???
AND, regarding LENGTH----the grades have not started to 'fall off',
as per Quinton's moddel and analysis, if you follow it closely.
It is CERTAINLY frustrating, right NOW, with our share price at
a mere 40 Cents.
However; I also think there is a very good reason that Quinton is
"sleeping very well at night". He is CONFIDENT that all of his
MODDLING is CORRECT.
Remember that he is 'constrained' by regulations regarding
"forward looking statements".
How's about his 'hitting' the "CRITICAL MASS" of 5 MILLION OUNCES,
and KNOWING that he HAD it 'in the bag' with the vast majority
of the ounces in the Measured and Indicated Categories---beforehand???
Then he just ceased further drilling----early, so it seemed!!!
Quinton, to little OLD me at least, knows exactly what he has and what
he has potentially got on his hands at Springpole.
Don't 'KID YOURSELF'.
As for Keith Barron---I love the guy. A legend, far ahead of his time,
and he proved it again, as DIABASE said, down in Equador.
Good for Keith. He is a VERY wealthy man now.
I don't know, or I may have forgotten, IF Quinton has ever MET Keith
personally.
I would sure like to be a fly on the wall at the time though.
I'm sorry, I'm too long winded. It is quite obvious that I am NOT a
very good writer, either.
