RE: What did HRT observe during drilling
RE: What did HRT observe during drilling The Wingat well more or less proved HRT's marine-origin model for a vast oil/gas field off the Nambianian coast.
Unfortunately, not living up to their “HRT” moniker, they seem to be unable to distinguish viable reservoirs despite their extensive (and costly) 3D seismic data.
The Murombe prospect presents good and bad characteristics. On the one hand it has three possible oil sources with multiple reservoirs. On the other, it is totally distinct from Wingat, to the extent that it was considered a less likely target and to the extent that much of the Wingat data may not be too applicable. Which is to say, that Mr. Paul’s optimism concerning the de-risking of Murombe is not worth much.
One promising feature of Murombe is that the Baobab target (at around 3700 m) should be penetrated and logged within a month after spud in, so if HRT cares to release the information, we could have positive news by the beginning of July.
