Now you get offended when one of your heroes is found to have made an error. For your information there are two types of dictionaries, prescriptive and descriptive. While one adheres to proper English the other tries to include the modern or commonly used language regardless (not irregardless) of how proper or correct it is. The Merriam-Webster dictionary is descriptive. It is a word because it is used. It does not make it right or proper, much like using the word "ain't" or "y'all".
