I remember Buffett had 25% of his partnership in American Express at one point during the 60s
I don't recommend doing it too often unless you  know the company inside and out.
Amex had a scandal for whatever reason and the shares got whacked. Buffett tried his Amex
card at local stores in Omaha to see if merchants were still accepting it or not.To his surprise
not one of the merchants told him to get lost.On that experiment he deducted that Amex should
survive and loaded up.Amex's share price soon recovered and Buffett was laughing all the way
to the bank.It was a calculated risk worth taking.

The scary part is how much wealth Buffett, Gates and the rest of the super rich have.I know Buffett
and Gates are decent people, but are they all.All we need is another Bin Laden with their wealth and it's
time to pack for moon base Alpha.
