CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 19, 2013) - FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. ("FLYHT") (TSX VENTURE:FLY) reported today that the AFIRS 228(TM) has been approved for use on the SITA network. The approval was the result of completion of SITA's VHF AIRCOM Qualification (VAQ) testing in Montreal, Canada. For AFIRS 228 to be qualified and validated to send Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) and other Datalink messages over the SITA network it was a requirement that the satcom system pass SITA's VAQ and compliance procedures.

Bill Tempany, President and CEO of FLYHT stated: "We are excited to continue our success in the delivery of the product announced on May 22, 2012 with L-3 Aviation Recorders. FLYHT has worked hard to meet this hurdle and currently have equipment in the testing facilities of other ACARS providers for certification. Once these important milestones are passed we will start final acceptance testing at Airbus to be prepared for planned fourth quarter factory installations as FLYHT has stated previous."

Shipments of the products are planned to commence in the fourth quarter of 2013 with services commencing in 2014 with end users. Airbus currently produces in excess of 450 A320 aircraft per year and there are more than 5,000 aircraft in the A320 family of aircraft in service today.
