one little reminder:
Mongolia is a democracy, still young but a democracy 

And if you read the book
"Does everyone want democracy, Insights from Mongolia", by Paul LW Sabloff
you notice how Mongolians are proud of this achievement...and how important it is for them to be recognized as such ...and respected by other democracies!!!

So there may be some lines in the South Gobi that may be very costly to cross.
