There was a clear and deliberate..............effort by Desjardins Securities to suppress the share price of LEG today. They continually sold in 100, 200 and 300 lots at a price under the immediate preceding sale. I would really like to know what the end game is. Is this one house suppressing the price so shorts from another can cover. Is it keeping a lid on the price for the next short attack?
Surge also suffered at the hands of Merrill Lynch Canada today. Unlike LEG, Merrill was unloading thousands of shares at a time which suggests someone was exiting their position. Selling in 100 and 200 lots, no more than 1 minute apart and in most cases less than a few seconds after the price went up a penny as Desjardins was doing, is not someone exiting a position.
