Shares of BlackBerry (BBRY) are dropping after technology news website The Verge reported that the Pentagon has not placed any orders for new BlackBerry devices. WHAT'S NEW: Although the U.S. Department of Defense announced on January 17 that it would soon begin deploying 80,000 BlackBerry devices, the agency has not placed new orders for any additional BlackBerry products, The Verge reported today, citing a statement from the Pentagon. Instead, the agency intends to utilize Blackberrys it has already acquired, the website noted. WHAT'S NOTABLE: On January 21, the first trading day following the Pentagon's announcement, Blackberry's stock jumped 10% to $9.93. PRICE ACTION: In early afternoon trading, BlackBerry tumbled 63c, or 65, to $10.15. The stock has jumped 37% since December 24.
