Prices should stay close to the $CDN price even on other exchanges.  When you want to trade you can also arrange a private sale if it's a large number of shares, or if you have the right broker you can arbitrage the markets when the Frankfurt exchange deviates significantly from the Canadian exchange.

Sometimes there is an advantage to trading on a thin exchange if the symbol produces significantly more volume under another exchange.
