RE:Any substance behind the share price spike?I tend to agree with this. There is no clear linkage between EFL's technologies and those employed by by Tesla/Panasonic. EFL does have innovative and patented technologies however, as well as some existing market exposure, and the Tesla Gigafactory announcement could bring valuable attention to the N.A. battery industry in general.
I think that EFL's energy density is in line with what Tesla is doing, though the latter's consistent mentioning of Li-Air batteries suggests that they are aiming for something beyond Li-Ion. Basically, if EFL can't demonstrate the excellence of their technology and its practical application in the near-term, they may get swallowed up or, worse still, left behind.
A investment from that Asian conglomerate wouldn't hurt.
