RE:BC Grocery stores can't sell if within 1km of existing storeYeah I saw that float up on reddit as well. I think it makes sense unfortunatrely. The BC government created this highly regulated prohibitionist style evironment, and the private liquor stores have invested heavily from that environment.<br /> <br /> TBH, I don't think sales would fall that badly.<br /> <br /> Where I live for example there's four private liquor stores within a 10 minute drive to a signature liquor store.<br /> <br /> None of those are suffering. If I want beer I'm not going to stand in line at Wal-Mart or Superstore. <br /> <br /> I think there's some irrational fear making a run at this stock, but honestly it's not going to be as bad as we think anyway.<br /> <br /> Just because there's a Safeway around doesn't mean 7-eleven is going to suffer. <br /> <br /> Let's face it, I won't be able to get craft local microbrews at a grocery store. <br /> <br /> I think we'll be fine over all.
