STOP LOSSES...GENERALLY, I DON'T USE THEMThanks for your input guys. With CPG, since I am new to this stock, I am just not comfortable sitting back "hoping" that the S/P will increase. At the moment, I am about a buck and a half up from where I bought it, and have collected one divvy and will get another in April as well.
I agree with you that stop losses can cause you pain, as in the past we have all experienced these wild swings in the market and you get "stopped-out" only to watch the stock recover the next day and sometimes go even higher....well, if this happens to me with CPG, then I really don't care. Most of the stuff in my portfolio doesn't require a stopper to be used, but I am just not going to tolerate CPG rolling downhill into a loss position for me and have to sit with "dead money" for some time. I have done this too often in the past.
