Irony of the can kicking decision process- straw to gold

Irony of the can kicking decision process- straw to goldIt seems to me that Obama's choice to push  off a decision on Keystone has some upside. If there isn't a pipeline than perhaps the overall development of the oilsands will be delayed as a result of lack of transportation. I suspect Syncrude has transportation agreements in place even though likely more expensive than the pipeline.  So if the newcomers can't get transportation then they delay development and thereby there is less Syncrude/ bitumen in the market. Less supply may keep Syncrude at a premium price.  What do you think about that logic of turning a straw into gold?
