PEL 91 April Update for April from Beach Website
Maybe Ian will issue a news release tomorrow, since he is all about them since the PP.
In PEL 91 (Beach 40%, Drillsearch Energy Ltd 60%), the Hardwicke-1 exploration well was drilled targeting an anticlinal closure mapped at the Namur Sandstone level. Hardwicke-1 was drilled to a total depth of 2,150 metres and encountered a water bearing Namur Sandstone target reservoir. Strong oil shows were recorded over the Birkhead Formation, the secondary target, although wireline logs indicated poor quality reservoir. An open hole Drill Stem Test (DST) was conducted over the Birkhead Formation and no reservoir influx was observed. The well was subsequently plugged and abandoned.
Pennington-2 is the first of two consecutive wells to be drilled in the Pennington field area of PEL 91. Pennington-2 spudded on the 29 April 2014, as a deviated appraisal well targeting the McKinlay/Namur and mid-Namur reservoirs, approximately 250 metres to the south west of the Pennington-1 oil discovery. The well is currently being cased and suspended as a future Namur oil producer. The second well of the campaign will be Pennington North-1, an exploration well approximately 900 metres north of Pennington-1..
