RE:Actively pursuing new deals now for last 6-10 weeksWe'd all like to see a new deal tomorrow, but you're reading too much into Denver's statement. 4-6 weeks is the typical closing time. "Actively pursuing new deals" only means they have serious prospects in the pipeline, it doesn't necessarily mean they will be closing any in the immediate future.
Personally, I think Watson showed good business sense by waiting until conditions (for lenders) improved. I suspect that prospective partners are beginning to begrudgingly accept that they must move forward with their projects now if they want to take advantage of the rising gold price, and not wait any longer for the (dubious) prospect of getting better terms. In other words, they are getting real.
We could all do the same, by appreciating the enormous amount of work that goes into deal-making and building a company like Sandstorm. I'm feeling as impatient as everyone else, because a streaming company must continually grow. But it isn't the number of deals that matter, it's the quality.
Remember, Sandstorm's first deal - Luna - is still by far its most profitable. A couple more deluges like that and I think we would all forgive any interim droughts.
