Teuton -- A Little Positive NewsWell, I'm pleased to say that it's good to see that finally Teuton has a plan.
A: appeal the verdict;
B: attempt to minimize the amount of legal bills awarded;
C: raise money for contingent liabilities and conitnue as a going company, funding exploration of its properties and continuing to seek partners for its prospects.
Certain AMK shareholders post with glee about the award of legal fees. How will that benefit their shareholders? I'm not sure.
If AMK wins legal fees, will AMK start drilling? How much do their shareholders stand to benefit after the attorneys get paid? Or are the posters on this Bullboard just pleased that Teuton will have to dig deep to pay some of AMK's legal bills and that makes them happy, despite owning a penny stock of their own (like us)? Hardly anything for either company's shareholders to sing about, yet I see Misty and Texas going back and forth, back and forth like two schoolkids going "nya nya nya nya nyahhh!" It's pathetic and it's getting boring.
If there is a rare visitor here that is thinking about buying Teuton, surely this junk would scare them away, but if you are here, dear potential buyer, this is one speculative company with a lot of great properties but a heck of a minefield for the near term which will disappear faster than a jackrabbit if the price of gold and silver skyrockets; so this is a long-term hold.
(Now that I've spoken to the one poor devil who wandered onto this board thinking of buying our stock, let me resume my rant.)
I think the question many AMK shareholders haven't even thought of is this: What do you think AMK's plans will be after they collect their legal fees from Teuton? If I were a shareholder, my hope would be that they are negotiating with Seabridge for tunnel rights and will thus raise cash to resume at Treaty Creek; but if they are engaged in such negotiations, I imagine they could not talk about that. But that would be great for them and Teuton. I realize the judgment is under appeal and that might prevent them from drilling, but the case STILL could be settled, IMHO. Yes, I do believe that; having worked in New York State Supreme Court for years, I have seen many cases settle post-verdict.
Until recently, I had concern about Teuton continuing as an exploration company, but I am very encouraged that Teuton has boldly filed for a private placement and is setting out to explore several properties in the Golden Triangle which leads me to believe they are going to fight like hell to stay around and get through this mess.
Look, I'm absolutely buried in the stock; I have no illusions but I'm not delusionary either; the company has a chance but the road is long and winding and there are going to be obstacles. The litigation was a disaster but who knows what the future will bring. One day that will all be behind us and we will move forward. I truly wish the best to the innocent AMK shareholder who, like us, wound up holding "incredible shrinking certificates." It sure hasn't been fun but being broke hasn't been all that bad because now I think I can actually smell roses! (They're overrated!)
