Clues, Shoes and inside viewsSome years ago, a had the opportunity to put money into a small project that involved providing internet for rural areas. Small towns, villages, farms, acreages, etc. were all part of the business model in conjunction with a subscriber plan. It was a slow progression and now most the area is covered by it. Today the network still runs, and maintains a great subscriber base. It would have not happened over night but eventually the network was sold for multiple millions to a major ISP. Which goes to show you, sometimes foresight is golden ability, and taking a risk can pay iff in spades. In the beginning we had no idea that the farmer from Armpitville would want to connect with the Polish or Ukranian farmer overseas.
But then who would have thought, even back then, a simple board game would have caused a world wide cardboard shortage (Trivial Pursuit) at its peak or that a video game for phones would generate billions in revenue (Angry Birds) years and years later ? The ability to predict the future is an unpredictible business. However, with enough historical based data and some future extrapolation of that data we can come to somewhat of a picture of what is coming.

The concept of the “fast follower” is becoming obsolete. In a world of nonstop change, there is no time to catch up. Instead, we expect the emerging digital leaders to be master orchestrators—uniquely able to strive for convergence on a huge scale as they capitalize on a wide array of technology breakthroughs to rapidly advance and innovate with their systems and strategies.
I speak of the future because it seems everyone wants to know whats going to happen. Whether technology related, personally related, corporately related.....we ALL want to know.
Whats the next "IT" thing or hot item. Other than calamity or disaster, it seems this is the most popular thing that brings us together, technology and its wonders.
Its been hashed and rehashed more than a few times as to what a POET product would do in the marketplace, but its compelling to keep looking at it and in turn helping us to understand the potential large dollar values on the balance sheet. One question has arisen, would POET a few years down the road, having garnered so much cash in the bank, set up a financing arm for their clients ? Thereby making even more money like an Intel Capital or a GMAC. Would large amounts of cash in the bank, make them a takeover candidate ? Or would they be too big and too lucrative to be taken out ?

Then we take time to consider the beginnings of a journey, or for some possibly the end of one What ever happens, those with the greatest amount of foresight, patience and mental durability will become smartest of the flock. Those that have these qualities....AND.......can hang in for an "INTEL" size market cap, well they will become the wealthiest of the flock. You figure out how much that is.........I say........oh.... about 24 months or so ............you'll hit that target.
