I don't understand AXY very well!!

I 've had this since the days of plutonic transition to axy etc  and still underwater bigtime but holding on, hoping to eventually recoup some of the losses and maybe a dividend one day.. The company seems to be chugging along slowly , making aquisitions along the way and growing , I've seen little return on my investment and it sure trades strangely on a day to day or week to week basis with volume peaks but little share price change , insider selling last month , but occasionally large institutional buys??  I just don't understand . Any info. from other long term holders whether to hold for long term or just pull the plug and move on would be helpful?
