HONK IF YOU GOT A DEALERSHIP TO SELL. AutoCanada moved higher in sympathy to good Q3/14 results from AutoNation, America's largest automotive retailer with 277 new vehicle franchises. AN reported Q3/14 revenue of $4.9 billion (vs. Q3/13 revenue of $4.5 billion) and EPS of $0.90 (vs. Q3/13 EPS of $0.75). AN's retail new vehicle unit sales increased 9% overall and 7% on a same store basis, and retail used vehicle unit sales increased 7% overall and 6% on a same store basis. Last week, ACQ announced the purchase of Toronto Dodge Chrysler Ltd, which owns and operates a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership located in Toronto, ON. In 2013, the dealership retailed 615 new vehicles and 199 used vehicles, making it slightly smaller than an average ACQ dealership. Limited details were included in the release. Canaccord Genuity Consumer & Retail Analyst Derek Dley notes the company has already announced three acquisitions, and expects ACQ will meet or exceed the remaining 5-7 acquisitions implied by its guidance. In Dley’s view, ACQ continues to have a large pipeline of potential acquisitions and note that each dealership adds ~$0.05 to his EPS estimate. Dley's forecasted YoY EPS growth of 30% and 40% in 2014 and 2015, respectively, he believes at the current valuation of 16.3x, the shares are attractively valued.
