Ok I see that accounting trick and you are right it's misleading at best and even more horrific it means they can't keep their all in payout ratio under 100% unless they eliminate the div and keep selling assets or keep the div and keep selling assets and keep accessing their credit line to pay the div...so CIBC probably did the POR in a transparent way and didn't include the amount from the assets sale - eventually they are going to run out of assets to sell and what happens if no one is interested in buying their assets
