Cannot put the technology back in the box, the only way to curtail shale development is to keep oil price below production cost which is what is being done now. I am afraid that we are at the end of it for oil unless there is a major disruption to OPEC supply such as Iran blockading the gulf. How far will the West go to this end? Can you imagine where oil would be priced if Iraq, Libya and Nigeria starting ramping up to their full potential? Despite all the rhetoric nobody wants these countries to expand their output so I can see the strife in these countries continuing for a number of years.
