HDGE is the closest vehicle I have found for that purpose. Since its introduction four years ago it has shown a perfect inverse correlation to the S&P 500. It is a non-leverage fund that is actively managed to short companies whose accounting gimmickry and financial shenanigans will get them into trouble. HDGE starts to rise when the market starts to slide. Seems we are on the cusp of a serious correction right now.
