To each their own however if you wan't to reduce risk either have 20-25 stocks or buy ETF's anything else exposes you to too much risk.
I have 17 stocks all except BBD pay a dividend, 7 preferred shares no bonds ans over 100K in cash.
Biggest holding is Royal Bank at 7%.
It is your money, take the time to manage it or don't complain.
