Marijuana and movies?! I'm on the wagon! It's gonna be a bumpy road, so buckle in. I don't mind paying shares for licensing fees, the potential profit is always still there, if GNM was a small indie company the story would be different. But GNM has a minimum 6 film contract over 24 months or something? I'm well versed in the film industry. Even if the first two are stinkers that flop (or straight to dvd/netflix), reputation is key (even bad reputation is good, look at MOVIE 43, said to be one of the worst films ever, yet since they had tons of advertising, they stil made millions).
The Segal film they're releasing looks very formulaic, but that's a good thing, follow the standard formulas until the production company/producers are well known so they can eventually release something over-the-top and hopefully into a big hit. And with Loinsgate doing the theatrical distribution, what can I say... Potential with huge belivers... Any movie that has a large advertising budget is almost guaranteed to make money. People will follow if they see it on TV
