Town assembly OK’s Ikata N-plant restart
IKATA, Ehime (Jiji Press) — The assembly of the town of Ikata, home to a Shikoku Electric Power Co. nuclear power plant, endorsed the requested restart of an offline rector at the plant by a unanimous vote on Tuesday.
 
Fifteen, who do not include the speaker, of the 16 members of the assembly of the town in Ehime Prefecture, approved the restart of the No. 3 reactor at the Ikata nuclear power plant.
 
Ikata Mayor Kazuhiko Yamashita told reporters that information needed for his decision has been collected. He said he will decide whether to accept the restart after he meets with of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Yoichi Miyazawa.
