RE:RE:gold 1171, CND $1553 Someone here was right about $1550 goldThe only reason that the cartel's shorting has any effect is that long futures sell when shorting appears.

If there were no paper longs, outside of the cartel, then the pantomime would be over, as the shorts would be unable to cover and the outstanding shorts would rise to infinity, unless they were to buy long to cover their own shorts (which would be a zero sum game for the cartel)
