maybe MEG was gettign close to selling pipeline and now they are in discussions to sell the whole company?

just a tought but if I was a buyer and wanted to buy MEG I'd also want the pipeline, so a pre-emtive strike would be considered even if the SU/COS deal is still mire in mud sliingling.

it's really not Canadian to act in such a way, I forget where is Williamns from???

I don't think hs is Canadian, he's just not nice enough.

I think a buyer would absolutely want the pipeline. The problem is that I don't think MEG will even consider a sale of the company. It would have to be hostile. It would be difficult to get both. Maybe buyers are waiting until they know what's happening with the pipeline. I heard someone on BNN today say some of the US oil producers are hanging on by hedges that will soon expire. I hadn't really thought of that, but it's a good point.
