Members serve three-year renewable terms. The group meets annually, usually in conjunction with the Atlantic Council’s Annual Awards Dinner in Washington, DC. Members have a demonstrated track record of support for the Euro-Atlantic relationship. Its makeup also reflects the rapidly changing nature of the transatlantic agenda as captured in the Council’s mission statement: “Renewing the Atlantic Community for 21st Century global challenges.” The group or individual members may suggest specific directions or programs that serve that mission.
