What does a N.J. Liquor License Sell for?

What does a N.J. Liquor License Sell for?
Well it depends on the area. An Atlantic City Liquor License would obviously sell higher than at Tim Buck Two. But generally speaking they sell from about $400,000 to $1,000,000. In New Jersey Liquor License are restricted to 2 per Corporation, which keeps out the Big Box Sellers like Wal-Mart and Costco. But the number of licenses also depends on population. I believe it is 1 License for every 3,000 People. So from time to time they will issue a new license. This new Liquor License then goes on the Auction Block to the highest bidder, so it sells for what someone else is willing to pay for it. In LIQ Area, the highest bid was $1.5M, but on a recent sale it went for $0.5M. But this last one was a distressed sale on a Bankruptcy. So on average they sell for about $800,000.
