RE:Basic Questions for IvanhoeI do not agree with your interpretation of the "Congo" risk and for that matter also do not agree with many other posters that have similar views.
- Congo is resource rich but for it to make a profit on those resources they need to be able to invest and take the projects to production
- Congo does not have th money or expertise to do it
- In terms of expropiation - this will not benefit Congo since there are international laws that will put a lot of pressure on them. They are able to do it but there is no benefit for them
- The more corrupt the goverment the more interest they have in have foreign investment in their country. This allows them to continuing stealing from what really belongs to their people.
- etc.
The above does not mean that I do not think there is not a short term political risk.
