Think it depends on what the players with the resources to move the market think the trend is. 

Just an example of why the stocks usually start to move before the oil price actually does.  If you told someone today that Oil would dip in the next 2 months, you don't know exactly when, and then be $50 by end of year and everyone else knew this too.  So, basically you are very certain that at the end of the year what you buy right now will be worth much more.  What would you do with that information?  Buy now?  Or hope everyone else with the same info will hold off buying until the oil price dip happens and you can get the equity a bit lower?  I think guys playing with big money typically just get in when they believe the trend has changed.

Sounds like Nuttall has been all in since December.  He's paid a lot for being early, but if his call is right he will still be up at the end of this year.
