RE:Finding Acquisition Targets in the Mining IndustryA takeover is always a possibility, chux, but there is no way in hell it would be like you are suggesting. (hey, "tell you guys what....")

The remediation business is a sideline. It helped Alexco in the bidding for Keno Hill and it's certainly helped keep them afloat through the downturn, but there is no way management is going to be content to give up a potential (dare I say guaranteed?) fortune in silver to run a nice little cleanup business.

If there is a takeover it would be about as hostile as you can possibly get, more like the Godfather than Let's Make a Deal. Hopefully insiders and stockholders will make sure it never gets past the "pondering" stage.

"An offer you can't refuse", indeed.
