Barry, Canada: 60m grading 2.3g/t Au from 18m depth (MB-16-11)

Metanor Resources’ plan to increase the mineral resources and make an economic case for resuming mining at its Barry gold project in Quebec, Canada, is going very well, with the final results from recent diamond drilling capping off a strong campaign.

With gold mining only ceasing in 2010 after producing 43,970 ounces of gold from Barry and a fully functioning mill just 117km away, Metanor is well-positioned to start generating cash flow.

There were two compelling drill results included in the latest assays – 60m grading 2.3g/t Au from 18m depth and 55m grading 1.3g/t Au from 5m depth. Within the former was an 18m zone grading 4.6g/t Au from 60m depth.

Both the grade and the depth of these intersections bode well for openpit mining. In terms of location, they’re from an area to the southeast of the main pit where mining used to occur.

Based on this success, Metanor is considering an additional drill campaign of 15,000m on these extensions, on the lookout for a new potential openpit.
