ProShares Short SmallCap600 T.SBB

Primary Symbol: SBB

The investment seeks daily investment results that correspond to the inverse (-1x) of the daily performance of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index. The fund invests in financial instruments that ProShare Advisors believes, in combination, should produce daily returns consistent with the funds investment objective. The index is a measure of small-cap company U.S. stock market performance. It is a float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted index of 600 U.S. operating companies selected through a process that factors in criteria such as liquidity, price, market capitalization, financial viability and public float. The fund is non-diversified.

Big caribou-boo

Big caribou-boo
Well, I myself did not find the CC all that enlightening. I heard an awful lot of nervous "ums" and "uhs", etc. - nothing much that hasn't already been discussed here on the board and pretty much what you would expect from a management in the penalty box. Nonetheless, everyone should listen to the call and make up their own mind what - if anything - it all means.

What I have concluded (based on what litle we know for certain) is that this situation is probably way overblown and the mine is very likely to eventually get approval. It is simply what others here have stated:  a power play, pure and simple.

The fact is, it is not in the interest of much of anybody to permanently block this project. Probably not even the caribou, if you consider what is likely to happen to them when climate change (or other non-mining related factors) adversely impact the natives'  lifestyle and people are starving.
