Why?

ISO 9001 is a standard which is nothing special and a basic tool and certification especially when you're planning to supply to customers in automotive industry. Next step could be ISO TS 16949.
The certification is just the final result of how you work and manage your company and it won't stop you to work with all these tools before you have a certification paper.
